Mobile Website Redesign After-Action Report
From MobileDesign
Presented at Design for Mobile 2009

[edit] Abstract
I will discuss, and within the limits of allowed disclosure, display the design documentation and developed results of the redesign of a large mobile website.
While there will be designs on the screen, the focus will be on following a review process to determine why design decisions were made, how documentation was delivered and how the client accepted and was able to implement the project.
Be sure to bring your questions about design process, client interaction and anything else related, and I'll do my best to answer them.
[edit] Discussion
[edit] Steven Hoober says:April 10, 2009, •Apr10•0925
We all spend too much time talking, especially in public, about success. The best way to learn how to change and improve is by reviewing how things could have gone better. I've been thinking this for a little while at conferences; we need to share our failures as well as our successes if we want to improve as an industry and practice area.
I'll go first: While the design completed for this particular project (which will not be named) itself is fine, the deliverables and client interaction could have been better. I am putting together a brief presentation covering intent, desire, design approach, delivery, satisfaction and a discussion of how it could be improved.
But I hate just talking to a quiet room. So tell me what you want to hear about. Share your stories and issues and worries. Bring -- or better yet type below -- your questions, theories, problems or stories about sub-optimal client interaction and troubled projects.
