[edit] Abstract
The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) is developing a new interaction tool for mobile phones. During the summer months, DR is beta testing this tool within the programme "Sommersummarum" – a show targeting older children (ages 7 - 12).
The show is all about amusing the target audience with easy and funny games, music and short cartoons. The interaction tool enables the children to vote on specific subjects and write short messages to the show. The objective is to reduce the interaction complexity compared to sending a text message with codes, to enable more advanced interaction, and increasing the user experience by making it cheaper to interact with DR.
The key issue in this study is to investigate if this mobile application enables a more user friendly and fun experience in regards to interacting with a television programme. This presentation will present the results of this test and share how children experience the interaction with the mobile application as well as the interaction with the television programme.
