[edit] Abstract

Japanese users want their own "Keitai" (means mobile device in Japanese) especially customized for each of them. In this presentation, the following matters are to be presented:

  1. NTT DoCoMo's approach to mobile user interface customization
    • Introduction of brand new UI customization service called "Kisekae Keitai," which users can customize menu design and arrangement of functionalities in menu by user themselves (including demos)
  1. What can artificial intelligences contribute to useful mobile user interfaces?
    • Semantic web approach: a task-oriented mobile service navigation menu based on task-ontology that represents user's real world problem solving model
    • Statistical approach: an automatic menu customization based on the analysis of user operation history (including demos)
